The 5 Car Rentals That Deliver the Car to You

#1 Hertz

With thousands of rental locations around the country, Hertz can meet their customers where they need the car.

Hertz has countless branches in major airports and local neighborhoods, and it can deliver the vehicle to you at your home, hotel, or repair shop.

Your reservation must meet these requirements to qualify for this service:

  • Minimum two-day rental.
  • Within Hertz’s geographic limits (see the next paragraph).
  • Received within the location’s operation hours and one full business day in advance (excluding Saturday, Sunday, or Holidays) or,
  • If received outside the operation hours, require one full business day advance notice (excluding Saturday, Sunday, or Holidays) from one hour after the location’s next opening time.
  • No delivery on Saturday, Sunday, or Holidays.
  • You must set the delivery time at least one hour after the location opens and one hour before it closes.

The fee Hertz charges for delivering the car to you is:

  • $12 (within 10 miles of the participating location).
  • $24 (between 10 and 20 miles from the rental location).

#2 National

Unlike others on this list, National car rental only delivers to private airports within 50 miles of their participating location for Emerald Club Executive Elite members.

You’ll need to attain 25 paid rentals or 85 paid rental days in a calendar year to qualify for this membership.

Still, this option is relatively less popular as most renters do not use private airports.

#3 Silvercar

Silvercar is a unique car rental with an all-Audi fleet, perfect for brand loyalists.

Through its ‘Deliver to You’ program, available at participating locations, Silvercar can deliver the rental car to its customers where they need it and pick it up when the trip completes.

The delivery fee averages $100 per rental, but it varies depending on the location. Unfortunately, Silvercar does not deliver to airports.

For car deliveries, your reservation must meet these requirements:

  • Submit your delivery requests at least 48 hours before your trip.
  • Silvercar will review your request and accept it at its discretion.
  • Delivery and retrieval requests must be within 15-20 miles from the rental location or dealership. As each location sets a different delivery radius, please check with the individual branches for details.

As crucially, the drop-off and pickup are contactless, meaning:

  • You finalize your reservation with all relevant information as required by the online booking app.
  • You will receive a text message with a link to verify your driver’s license.
  • On the scheduled pickup day, open the app to activate the rental, and Silvercar will text you your car’s parking spot.
  • You scan the car with the app, and the door unlocks for the rental to begin.

#4 Sixt

Like Hertz, Sixt is a traditional car rental company that delivers the vehicle to its customers.

Sixt has been increasing the number of cities where they offer delivery services, and they now include:

  • Boulder downtown, CO.
  • Basalt, CO.
  • Broomfield, CO.
  • Denver Cherry Creek, CO.
  • Lakewood, CO.
  • Littleton, CO.
  • Las Vegas Strip, NV.
  • Phoenix downtown, AZ.
  • Tampa downtown, FL.
  • Bellevue, WA.

  • L.A. Brentwood, CA.
  • L.A. Hollywood, CA.
  • L.A. Koreatown, CA.

Delivery requests with Sixt car rental are subject to the following:

  • Must submit delivery requests at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Sixt can deliver for free or a fee, depending on the location.
  • Delivery requests are subject to availability (when a branch employee confirms if the request is possible).

#5 Turo

Turo is a car-sharing network consisting of near-infinite private car owners who rent their cars for attractively-low prices, so you get endless make and model choices to suit your taste.

If you don’t need one-way car rentals that let you drop off in another State, Turo is an excellent pick to explore a place while enjoying the convenience of having the vehicle delivered to you for free.

Turo makes renting a car with delivery to your doorstep simple on its booking app:

  • Find the right car on the app by entering the delivery location and trip dates.
  • After confirming the reservation, you can cancel it for free up to 24 hours before your trip starts.
  • Your host will deliver the car to you, and you simply check in with the app and commence your trip.

Turo prohibits your host from:

  • Charging you the cost of fuel to deliver the car to you.
  • Covering your travel cost to a vehicle location outside the listed delivery location.
  • Asking you for a ride home from a delivery location.
  • Delivering to an airport.
