Most Audi cars started getting Android Auto functionality in 2017, with the A3, A4, A6, TT, and Q7 among the earliest Audi models to have smartphone integration as standard across all trim levels.
Wireless smartphone charging and voice recognition are integral to the newer infotainment systems.

Audi Cars with Android Auto
#1 Audi A1
This premium hatchback is a supermini in the UK and is available in most markets except North America.
When the German carmaker introduced the first-gen MK1 in 2010, the Audi A1 lacked several technology features, so the 2010 to 2018 models did not have Android Auto.
But the next-gen Audi A1 has had Android Auto mirroring as a standard provision across all trim levels since 2018.
#2 Audi A3
The A3 is Audi’s smallest sedan, and while its price reflects that, it is also enjoyable to drive.
Android Auto availability in the second-gen Audi A3 (2015-2020) is mixed: Android Auto was absent in the 2015 and 2016 A3s, present in the upper trims of 2017 and 2018 versions, and became standard equipment in the 2019 and 2020 models.
After a 2021 absence, 2022 and newer Audi A3 sedans gained standard wireless Android Auto functionality.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz A-Class are close rivals to the Audi A3 with similar driving characteristics.
#3 Audi S3
Audi S3 sits between the regular A3 and the higher-performing RS 3 in horsepower and personality.
This higher-performing version improves on the regular A3 on the tech front; the Audi S3 has had the MMI electronic interface with Android Auto as a standard provision since 2017 and wireless connectivity in 2022 and beyond.
Older Audi S3s, like the 2016 or earlier model, did not have Android Auto.
#4 Audi A4
The A4 is available as a sedan or wagon and is a strong pick among European compact cars with its upscale cabin, standard all-wheel drive, and feature-packed offering.
Despite its small-car categorization, the A4 has a spacious back seat for adults bordering a midsize.
Audi A4 models from 2017 onwards, including the A4 Allroad wagon, had the MMI infotainment system that includes Android Auto, but it cannot connect wirelessly yet.
Buyers of used Audi A4s produced in 2016 or earlier weren’t Android smartphone compatibility.
#5 Audi S4
S4 is the higher-performance version of the A4 sedan.
After skipping 2017, all Audi S4 models since 2018 get standard Android Auto integration, although none has wireless connectivity.
#6 Audi A5
The A5 lineup consists of the coupe, convertible, and four-door hatchback body styles.
2018 and newer Audi A5 models get Android Auto functionality as standard, with those manufactured in 2022 or later upgrading to wireless connectivity.
Older-generation A5s made in 2017 or earlier did not support Android Auto.
#7 Audi S5
The S5 is higher-performing than the A5 but less than the RS S5. It is a super-capable coupe or convertible, combining standard AWD traction and nimble handling.
Audi S5 coupes, convertibles, and hatchbacks from 2018 onwards have standard Android Auto, while older ones do not.
The 2022 or newer Audi S5 supports wireless Android Auto.
#8 Audi A6
The A6 is a strong pick among midsize premium sedans.
A 2018 or newer model will be perfect if you’re looking for an Audi A6 with standard Android Auto integration, although those produced in 2022 or later gain wireless connectivity.
Opting for a 2017 Audi A6 means choosing a pricier trim to enjoy Android Auto.
2016 and older Audi A6s did not support Android Auto.
#9 Audi S6
The regular A6 underwent performance enhancement, and the S6 is the result.
2018 and newer Audi S6 models have Android Auto mirroring capability, although none has a wireless connection.
#10 Audi A7
Audi A7s accelerate strongly with the V6, mild hybrid, and plug-in-hybrid engines, and powertrain options come with all-wheel drive.
Although they are sedans, their stylings are closer to hatchbacks with the sloping roofline.
All Audi A7 models since 2017 have enjoyed Android Auto capability as standard equipment, but none support wireless connectivity.
Pre-2017 Audi A7s did not have Android Auto.
#11 Audi S7
This 400-plus-horsepower sedan is the perfect choice for drivers who love the A7 but wish for a more engaging, sporty drive.
All Audi S7 models since 2018 get Android Auto via a cabled connection as standard.
#12 Audi A8
The Audi A8 is a large sedan with steers and corners like a smaller car.
Since 2019, all Audi A8 models have had touchscreen infotainment systems that include Android Auto.
Owners of 2022 and newer Audi A8s can ditch the cable as they have wireless Android Auto.
2018 and older A8 did not have any smartphone compatibility.
#13 Audi TT
This sexy-looking coupe or convertible is Audi’s most iconic model with standard Quattro all-wheel drive.
If Android Auto is a must regardless of the trim level, opt for a 2021 or newer Audi TT, although none can connect wirelessly.
Audi TT models from 2017 to 2020 supported Android Auto in the more expensive trims; 2016 and older TT coupes and convertibles had no smartphone connectivity, whether iOS or Android.
#14 Audi R8
The R8 is Audi’s exotic sports coupe or convertible that competes with the BMW M8, Lamborghini Huracan, and Porsche 911 GT3.
Car enthusiasts wanting an Audi R8 with Android Auto will have to opt for a 2018 or newer model.
Audi SUVs with Android Auto
#15 Audi Q3
The Q3 is a smart pick for a subcompact luxury crossover and the least expensive way to own an Audi SUV.
The Audi Q3 is a value-packed, affordable premium SUV with standard Android Auto integration since 2019.
But if you want Android Auto that connects wirelessly in an Audi Q3, you need to choose one of the upper trims of a 2019 or newer model.
The 2018 and older Audi Q3 crossovers did not support Android Auto smartphone integration.
#16 Audi Q5
The Audi Q5 can seem mediocre in a class where the similarly Android-equipped BMW X3, Genesis GV70, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class rule with better overall performance and value.
Still, you can have the Q5 as a gasoline model or plug-in hybrid for some all-electricity mileage.
Although smartphone compatibility has been standard since 2018, it didn’t gain wireless connectivity until five years later, making the 2023 and newer Audi Q5 SUVs perfect for drivers wanting wireless Android Auto.
2020 saw the introduction of the Q5 plug-in hybrid, which also has Android Auto.
Owners of 2018 to 2022 Audi Q5s get wired Android Auto, but those buying 2017 or older Q5 models will not.
#17 Audi SQ5
Like the regular Q5, the sportier SQ5 has a sleeker Sportback variant.
2018 was the first year the higher-performance Audi SQ5 had standard Android Auto, while 2023 and newer SQ5 SUVs let you connect wirelessly.
2017 or older Audi SQ5 did not have Android Auto integration.
#18 Audi Q7
This midsize three-row SUV has many qualities, including standard all-wheel drive, hybrid powertrain, agile handling, and excellent ride quality.
As a suitable long-distance cruiser for larger families, the Audi Q7 has enjoyed Android Auto integration as standard since 2019, with the 2023 and newer models connecting wirelessly.
2017 and 2018 Audi Q7 SUVs had Android Auto, but the functionality was only available in the upper trims.
2015 and older Audi Q7 buyers will have to do without Android Auto support.
The Q7 also has a performance variant called the SQ7, and both have similar convenience and technology features.
#19 Audi Q8
It’s the largest in Audi’s SUV family.
Since its 2019 debut, Audi Q8 has had Android Auto as standard equipment, with the 2022 and newer models gaining wireless connectivity.
An SQ8 exists, with the ‘S’ denoting a higher-performance variant of the regular Q8; both share similar technology features inside the cabin.
Audi Electric Vehicles with Android Auto
#20 Audi e-tron
The Audi e-tron was one of the first electric SUVs to hit the market in 2019.
New and used SUV shoppers will not have a hard time choosing as most Audi e-tron electric SUVs have had wireless Android Auto since 2020, except for the 2019 debutant with a cabled smartphone connection.
#21 Audi e-tron GT
While most Audi electric vehicles are SUVs, the e-tron GT stands out as the sole sedan EV.
Audi e-tron GT electric sedans have wireless connectivity for Android auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration on top of wireless phone charging.
#22 Audi Q4 e-tron
The Q4 e-tron is larger than the Q3 and smaller than the Q5.
Like the German marque’s newer models, the Audi Q4 e-tron electric SUV comes with standard wireless Android Auto connectivity.
