When Did Chevrolet Get Android Auto?

The latest Chevy cars, SUVs, and trucks have Android Auto integration.

Most Chevrolet vehicles began getting Android Auto compatibility between 2016 and 2017, with the Spark subcompact, Volt PHEV, and Suburban full-size SUV among the earliest to have smartphone connectivity.

Wireless smartphone charging and voice recognition are integral to the newer infotainment systems.

Check the corresponding table to see when each Chevy model below has Android Auto.

Meanwhile, iOS users may find the post on Chevrolets with Apple CarPlay useful.

Chevy Cars with Android Auto

#1 Chevrolet Spark

2022 is the final production year for this hatchback.

Chevrolet Spark subcompacts from 2016 to 2022 had Android Auto as a standard provision, while the 2015 and older models did not.

#2 Chevrolet Sonic

Chevrolet discontinued this subcompact sedan or hatchback after 2020.

Android Auto is a standard provision in Chevrolet Sonic models from 2017 to 2020.

Older Chevy Sonic models made in 2016 and earlier did not have Android Auto connectivity.

#3 Chevrolet Malibu

Chevy Malibu has enjoyed full smartphone integration via Android Auto from 2019 onwards, with the 2021 and newer models going wireless.

Between 2016 and 2018, the Chevy Malibu had Android Auto integration in the upper trims, leaving the 2015 and older models without smartphone compatibility.

#4 Chevrolet Impala

This large sedan stopped production after 2020.

Chevy Impala supports Android Auto in the higher trims of the 2016 and 2017 model years before the smartphone integration became standard from 2018 to 2020.

The 2015 and older Chevy Impala did not have Android Auto.

#5 Chevrolet Volt

The American car company produced the Volt small plug-in hybrid (PHEV) from 2011 to 2019.

2017 to 2019 Chevy Volt plug-in hybrids had Android Auto as standard, but the 2016 and older ones did not.

#6 Chevrolet Camaro

This famous muscle car is available in coupe or convertible, with many powerful trims to suit various tastes for speed.

The Chevy Camaro received smartphone connectivity via Android Auto as standard in 2016, and the integration went wireless from 2021 onwards.

Older Chevy Camaros manufactured in 2015 or earlier had no smartphone compatibility.

#7 Chevrolet Corvette

Newer Chevy Corvette models since 2017 have had standard Android Auto functionality, and 2022 saw the smartphone integration going wireless for all trims.

Android Auto wasn’t available in 2016 or older Corvettes – however, the 2016 model had iOS smartphone connectivity.

Chevy SUVs with Android Auto

#8 Chevrolet Trax

Android Auto smartphone app integration has been standard in the Chevy Trax subcompact SUV since 2017, while the 2024 model gained standard wireless smartphone connectivity.

Unfortunately, the 2015 and 2016 Chevy Trax crossovers had no Android device functionality.

#9 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The Trailblazer is slightly larger than the Trax but is still a subcompact SUV.

2021 and newer Chevy Trailblazer extra-small SUVs benefit from standard Android Auto, although the integration became wireless from 2022 onwards.

#10 Chevrolet Equinox

Honda CR-Vs and Toyota RAV4s dominate the small SUV class, but the Chevy Equinox stands out with its stylish exterior and sharp handling.

Owners of Chevy Equinox made in 2018 or later get standard Android Auto smartphone functionality, while the 2022 and newer ones enjoyed wireless connectivity across all trims.

All second-gen Chevy Equinox models from 2010 to 2017 had no Android Auto support.

Chevrolet Blazer SUVs from 2019 and onwards have standard Android Auto connectivity.

#12 Chevrolet Traverse

Step into the midsize three-row Chevrolet Traverse if the two rows of seats in the Chevrolet Blazer are insufficient.

2022 and newer Chevy Traverse SUVs enjoy the automaker’s latest infotainment system, which supports wireless Android auto integration for all trim levels.

Meanwhile, older Chevy Traverse SUVs from 2018 to 2021 also get standard Android auto, although via a USB-cable connection, letting users link their smartphone to the user-friendly infotainment interface.

2017 and older Traverse models had no Android Auto compatibility.

No Android Auto functionality is available for the 2016 and older Tahoe models.

#14 Chevrolet Suburban

The Suburban has such a huge interior that you’d need to settle for a van if you want anything bigger.

Chevy Suburban full-size SUVs have had Android auto as standard equipment since 2016, with the 2022 and newer models upgrading to a wireless connection.

Unfortunately, the 2015 and older Suburban SUVs lack niceties like Android Auto smartphone functionality.

Chevy Trucks with Android Auto

#15 Chevrolet Colorado

Midsize trucks are increasingly popular due to their smaller dimensions than full-size pickups for maneuverability while having a reasonable towing capacity for broad utility.

Drivers who travel long distances in their Chevy Colorado should opt for a 2018 or newer model with standard Android Auto; 2023 and newer Colorado trucks go one better with wireless Android Auto connectivity.

The 2017 or older Chevy Colorado owners will have to do without Android Auto.

#16 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The full-size light-duty truck class has heavyweights like the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 – both have Android smartphone functionality.

Chevy Silverado models made in 2016, 2017, and 2018 also had Android Auto, but the feature was only available to the higher trims.
