When Did Nissan Get Android Auto?

Most Nissan cars and SUVs have Android Auto integration today.

Still, Nissan did not begin equipping its vehicles with the Android Auto smartphone functionality through the NissanConect infotainment system until 2017 or 2018 – some as late as 2022.

Wireless smartphone charging and voice recognition are integral to the newer infotainment systems.

Check the corresponding table to see when each Nissan model below has Android Auto compatibility.

Meanwhile, users on Apple devices may find the post on Nissans with Apple CarPlay helpful.

Nissan Cars with Android Auto

#1 Nissan Versa

The Versa remains one of the few extra-small sedans still in production.

Most Nissan Versa models have had Android Auto integration since 2019, including the base S trim, allowing drivers to get directions through their smartphones.

2018 and older Nissan Versa sedans did not have Android Auto.

#2 Nissan Sentra

The small car class sees several entrants like the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Hyundai Elantra, making Nissan Sentra a somewhat mediocre player.

Most Nissan Sentra sedans in 2019 and 2020 have had Android Auto, including the SV and SR trims, and the integration became a standard provision in 2021 and has remained since.

The seventh-generation Nissan Sentra from 2013 to 2018 (bar the 2019 model) did not have Android Auto.

#3 Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima midsize sedans have had standard Android Auto smartphone integration since 2019, while the 2018 model only had such compatibility in the upper trims.

Fifth-gen Nissan Altima models produced from 2013 to 2017 did not have Android Auto.

#4 Nissan Maxima

The Maxima is unique among mainstream midsize sedans, with sportier handling and an attractive cabin rivaling some luxury cars.

From 2017 onwards, Nissan Maxima has had standard Android Auto, including the SV, SR, and Platinum trims.

Unfortunately, Android Auto connectivity isn’t available in 2016 and older Nissan Maximas.

Nissan SUVs with Android Auto

#5 Nissan Juke

Nissan ceased making the extra-small Juke after 2017.

No Nissan Juke model years have Android Auto, so the automaker’s newer subcompact crossover (next on the list) will be a better fit for those wanting Android smartphone connectivity.

#6 Nissan Kicks

This quirky little crossover replaced the outgoing Juke as a 2018 debutant.

In 2018, 2019, and 2020, Nissan Kicks had Android Auto through NissanConnect in the upper trims like the SV and SR.

Android Auto became a standard provision in the Nissan Kicks from 2021 onwards.

#7 Nissan Rogue Sport

Nissan discontinued the Rogue Sport extra-small SUV for the American market after 2022.

2019 to 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport had Android Auto as a standard provision, while the 2017 and 2018 models did not have Android smartphone connectivity.

#8 Nissan Rogue

2018 and newer Nissan Rogue compact SUVs have Android Auto as standard equipment.

Older Nissan Rogue models like the 2017 and earlier versions did not have Android Auto.

#9 Nissan Murano

Nissan Murano midsize SUVs have had standard Android Auto integration since 2018.

2017 and older Nissan Murano models did not have Android Auto compatibility.

#10 Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan Pathfinder midsize three-row SUVs have had standard Android Auto integration from 2022 onwards.

The fourth-gen Nissan Pathfinder, made from 2013 to 2020, did not have Android Auto smartphone connectivity.

#11 Nissan Armada

This large three-row SUV has smartphone connectivity later than most class rivals.

Nissan Armada only had Android Auto from 2021 onwards, making the 2020 and older models without the much-needed integration to keep up with the competition.

Nissan Trucks with Android Auto

#12 Nissan Frontier

The Frontier was relatively late to the party of midsize trucks with Android device compatibility.

The Nissan Frontier pickup truck only had Android Auto integration from 2022 and onwards; 2021 and older Frontier models did not have Android smartphone connectivity.

#13 Nissan Titan

2019 and newer Nissan Titan full-size trucks have Android Auto as standard equipment.

Unfortunately, the 2018 and older Nissan Titan models did not have Android Auto compatibility.

Nissan Electric Vehicle with Android Auto

#14 Nissan LEAF

Nissan LEAF EVs have had Android Auto as a standard provision since 2020, while the 2018 and 2019 versions only had Android smartphone integration in the higher SV, SL, and Plus trims.

Android Auto wasn’t available in the first-generation Nissan LEAF manufactured from 2010 to 2017.
