Ford Cars with Apple CarPlay
#1 Ford Fiesta
2020 saw the subcompact Fiesta discontinued after nearly a decade of providing budget users with a sporty yet practical little car.
2017, 2018, and 2019 Ford Fiesta had Apple CarPlay smartphone integration in the upper trims.
2016 and older Ford Fiesta models did not support Apple CarPlay.
#2 Ford Focus
The Focus is a small car and slightly larger than the Fiesta.
In the final two years of its production, 2017 and 2018, the Ford Focus support Apple CarPlay in most upper trims, including the SEL, ST, and RS.
Unfortunately, Apple CarPlay isn’t available in 2016 and older Ford Focus.
#3 Ford Mustang
This iconic coupe or convertible has been thrilling car enthusiasts for decades with its muscular powertrains and track-capable handling.
Still, muscle cars typically aren’t feature-packed, but the Ford Mustang gets high marks in this aspect, offering Apple CarPlay support in most trim levels from 2017 onwards.
2016 and older Mustangs did not have Apple CarPlay, unfortunately.
Ford SUVs with Apple CarPlay
#4 Ford EcoSport
EcoSport is Ford’s smallest crossover, and the subcompact offers brand loyalists an opportunity to own an affordable Ford AWD.
2022 was EcoSport’s final production year, however.
Between 2018 and 2022, Apple CarPlay was available only in the Ford EcoSport’s higher trims.
No Ford EcoSport supports wireless Apple CarPlay.
#5 Ford Escape, Escape Hybrid, & Escape Plug-In Hybrid
In an ultra-competitive segment, the Ford Escape small SUV is a competent entrant, with a smooth ride and roomy interior among its notable pluses.
Ford offers the Escape SUV three powertrain options to broaden its appeal: gasoline-only, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid.
The Ford Escape crossover has had Apple CarPlay support, mostly in the pricier trims since 2017, although none has gained wireless connectivity.
Ford Escape models produced in 2016 and earlier were not Apple CarPlay compatibility.
#6 Ford Bronco Sport
The compact Bronco Sport represents the acceptable compromise if you want a more comfortable ride on-road and don’t need the larger, ultra-off-road-capable Bronco.
Since debuting in 2021, the Ford Bronco Sport SUV has had standard Apple CarPlay integration, although none has wireless connectivity.
#7 Ford Bronco
The Ford Bronco is one of the most capable 4WD off-roaders among midsize SUVs.
Since the all-new Ford Bronco appeared in 2021, it has had standard Apple CarPlay, and, best of all, you can choose to connect wirelessly or via a cable.
#8 Ford Edge
Ford Edge is the American automaker’s two-row midsize SUV that travels better on-road than it goes off-road.
All Ford Edge SUVs since 2020 have enjoyed standard Apple CarPlay support across all trims.
Apple CarPlay was available in 2017, 2018, and 2019 Ford Edge, but exclusively in the higher trims.
#9 Ford Explorer & Explorer Hybrid
This three-row midsize SUV is available in gas-only and hybrid powertrains.
Apple CarPlay smartphone compatibility has been standard equipment for the Ford Explorer since 2020, including the Explorer hybrid, although none has upgraded to connect wirelessly.
2017, 2018, and 2019 Ford Explorer had wired Apple CarPlay, but only in the pricier trim levels.
Ford Trucks with Apple CarPlay
#10 Ford Maverick
All Ford Maverick compact pickup truck has had standard Apple CarPlay since 2022, although none can connect to the Apple smartphone wirelessly.

This midsize pickup is easier to park than full-size trucks and has enough towing and hauling capacities for the average user.
You can get Apple CarPlay smartphone support if you opt for a 2019 or newer Ford Ranger in the XLT or higher trim level, but the wait for wireless connectivity continues.
#12 Ford F-150 & F-150 Hybrid & F-150 Lightning
Superior towing capacity and wide-ranging powertrain options make the F-150 one of the best-selling trucks in America.
2021 and newer Ford F-150 full-size pickups (including F-150 Hybrid and F-150 Lightning EV) have Apple CarPlay as standard equipment, with the 2023 model gaining wireless smartphone connectivity.
Most 2017 to 2020 Ford F-150 trim levels had Apple CarPlay compatibility, including the popular XLT.
Buyers of 2016 or older F-150 models will get no Apple smartphone support.
#13 Ford F-150 Raptor
Since the ultra off-road capable Ford F-150 Raptor debuted in 2017, Apple CarPlay integration has been a standard provision.
#14 Ford F-250
This full-size heavy-duty truck is the F-150 alternative if you need greater strength for heavier chores.
Most Ford F-250HD trucks have Apple CarPlay in the upper trims from 2018 onwards, with the 2022 model getting wireless smartphone connectivity.
